V&T Student Ysabella Calderon Orange County Register Top 3 Artist of the Year

Congratulations to our Company Level dancer Ysabella Calderon for making Orange County Register’s Top 3 Artist of the Year! We are so proud of you Ysa!

Ysa was nominated from her highschool dance video submissions and essay. From these nominations the Top Ten are selected and asked to create one choreography and perform this live (see video below) along with a second dance piece to a panel of about 10 judges. During that live audition they are also asked to improv to a dance music and get interviewed on the spot. Read the full story here.





YAGP 2017 New York Finals

“To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak.” And just like that YAGP 2017 Season is a wrap!!! So proud of all our amazing dancers who competed at the YAGP Regionals Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Colorado and all the way to New York Finals. We are so proud of your hard work, dedication and passion for the art of ballet. Always follow your dreams and DANCE!















Jordan Coutts won the Bronze Medal – 3rd Place Overall at the YAGP Finals with Scholarship Offers to the Paris Opera, Royal Ballet, Zurich Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet! Well done Jordan.

Six V&T Dancers Featured in Orange County Register

If you peeked at the Orange County Register’s Varsity Arts page this past Sunday you may have seen six of our dancers featured front and center! We are so proud of all of our dancers who participated in the Youth America Grand Prix in Los Angeles and those participating in San Diego this weekend. Congratulations to our dancers who made it to the next level competing at the 2017 Los Angeles Spotlight Music Center competition! We have six beautiful dancers in both Classical and Non-Classical categories who passed Video Auditions! Live auditions start this weekend Jan 15 until Feb 6! Competing for Classical Dance: Masha Cherezova, Jordan Coutts, Aviva Gelfer-Mundl, Taylor Tran, Alexa Woo & Ysabella Calderon. For Non-Classical: Masha Cherezova, Ysabella, Calderon, Taylor Tran & Alexa Woo.

Nutcracker Tickets On Sale!

Tickets for V&T’s 2016 Nutcracker Production are now on sale!

Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, this full-length production of the magical holiday ballet features more than 50 local dancers, aged 4-18. Bring in the holidays this year with Victor & Tatiana Kasatsky’s Christmas classic, The Nutcracker.

V&T Performance THIS WEEKEND! at Pacific Symphony Plazacast & Community Festival


V&T has been invited once again by Segerstrom Center and Pacific Symphony Orchestra this time to open the Pacific Symphony Orchestra’s PlazaCast Festival for their Symphonie Fantastique on Saturday, June 4th.  Our dancers will be performing from 5:00-5:30 at the Segerstrom Plaza but the event does not end until 10pm.  Here is the link to information about this event: https://www.pacificsymphony.org/tickets/concerts/plazacast

UP Article OC Register


V&T students were interviewed last week for an article published in the Sunday paper. The article discussed the group ensemble “Unusual Proportions” which will be performed once more locally at this year’s Imagination Celebration before the piece heads to New York City’s Skirball Center next month for the Youth America Grand Prix finals.
